How We Started

Dedicated to the Grind also known as "DTTG" was first established in late October 2013. Around this time it was popular for people to write acronyms on their sports gear and at the end of their social media posts. Instead of copying everyone else, he came up with the name at the time "Dedicated to the Game", "#DTTG". He started to put it at the end of his social media post, and on his basketball shoes. He realized quickly people started to take interest in it, and ask questions about it, and some would post it too. He had an idea to come up with custom shirts to wear around the school. Due to a lack of resources for designs, finding a place to make the shirts at a reasonable price, it was put on hold. Allante' took the next year and a half to construct a logo from scratch, taught himself photoshop, and after months of talking to different people. He found a manufacturer who happened to be in the same city. Allante' sold the majority of his shoes for a very low price to get the funds for the shirts. On January 19, 2015, he bought 12 DTTG shirts for $141.60. The goal wasn't to sell them at first, he initially only wanted a few shirts. The minimum requirement for order was 12, so he had no choice. The next week he wore the shirt to a basketball game and many people wanted one. He got a photoshoot with his friends the same week and the shirts sold out right before his next basketball game.

Over the next few months, every release quickly sold out. He scaled up the brand by putting all the profit back into it. Therefore he was able to buy more shirts. He understood this was bigger than sports. People from all over the city purchased a shirt. He was always known as a natural-born motivator, hustler, and leader and had a positive impact on others. He played every role within the brand. Operations and Production, photographer, videographer, graphic designer, marketing and promotions, editor, fulfillment, delivery, etc. Allante' knew DTTG was way bigger once he saw the reaction others had when they got their shirt. He decided to change the name to Dedicated to the Grind. Not only did it define him but it defined everyone in his family, neighborhood, community, and the world.
Before going off to college at Indiana State University Allante' funded and hosted a Back to School drive for kids in the community. He paid for 25 students' haircuts and provided school supplies for those who needed them as well.

At Indiana State, he majored in communications with a focus on media studies. In 2018, Dedicated to the Grind grew from just making "shirts" to producing everything from Jackets, Accessories, Lounge Wear, Denim, Kids' apparel, etc. Allante' did whatever it took to spread DTTG to a new environment. People took a liking to it like he thought they would from the beginning. He held pop-up shops from his dorm with a storefront, live DJ, and food. He hung up a banner outside the school's fountain area at 6 in the morning without permission just to spread awareness, created Snapchat filters, and got 40 people to wear his brand to one event his freshman year of college.

He graduated on time in May of 2020 and broke a cycle within his family and reached new heights. Finally, after many years of trials, tribulations, and help. Allante' is better on all levels of life. Over the years he managed to learn about business, created a lot, and planned. The relaunch is finally here and set for August 2022. We at Dedicated to the Grind thank everyone for the support. Whether you have been around since 2013 or just now came across us. Whether you know it or not you've always been DTTG.

Everyone is DEDICATED to something!

Remember "Aye... Keep Grindin... U Got It...".
